The project of the school has been conceived as two overlapping volumes. The first lies on the ground floor along the green buffer area on the south-east border of the site and will host the nursery school. The second, at the first level, will host the primary school and with its c-shape will embrace the central courtyard, considered as the main gathering area for the students.
The sport facilities characterize the project: the running lane passing through the courtyard and the volume of the gym on the first floor highlight the centrality of the sport activities in the life of the school. The volume of the gym with its strong identity creates a dialog with the surrounding areas and the overlooking park.
The school has been designed following the latest guidelines provided for educational buildings, not only guaranteeing the quality of the teaching areas, but also allowing an economically sustainable management with private late-afternoon and evening functions in defined spaces.
The structure is created using wooden laminated elements for floors and walls alongside steel structural framing.
