About This Project

The Hotel New York in Havana was characterized as a small, discreet and quiet hotel, essentially preferred for its elegance and cozy atmosphere. The project aims to restore and refurbish this Hotel that will have a maximum of 56 rooms and will occupy 4 of the 5 floors of the compact building. Most of the public services for guests and visitors are located at the ground floor, but it is foreseen a addition on the roof for the major suites and a restaurant to enjoy the view of the city roofs.

The project is aimed at recovering the exterior image of the hotel, managing to restore the architectural expression of its past characters and style. The renovation that should be carried out in the interior spaces will guarantee the functionality required for a contemporary hotel with all the premises and modern technical equipment. In addition, high quality materials will be used to create a harmonic environment with the product, the history and the mood characterizing the original architecture.

Considering the prominent location by the Parliament Building and at the entrance gate of the Chinatown the project foreseen the addition of a new wing completing the building plot, characterized by a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional shading devices.
