Architect Susanna Scarabicchi
Principal
Born in Genova in 1963. She has graduated at the Architecture Faculty of the University of Genova in 1987 and registered as architect in the same year. She held professional registration in Italy and France.
From 1987 to 1989 she worked in Milan and in 1989 she joined Renzo Piano Building Workshop to work on the Ex Fiat Factory for the Refurbishment of Lingotto in Turin. From that moment on she worked as lead Architect for a series of other projects: Lingotto phase 1, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Masterplan for the waterfront in Genova, Masterplan of Allston for the Harward University, Masterplan for the waterfront in Atene, project for the Cerba Institute in Milan.
Among these, she collaborated on the Nasher Museum in Dallas, the Kimbell Museum in Forth Worth and the Padre Pio Church in San Giovanni Rotondo.
She became partner at RPBW in 1997, and lead the design for the Masterplan of Aree Ex Michelin (Le Albere) in Trento, the Museum of Science (Muse) in Trento, the Eolic Tower for Enel Green Power, the Masterplan for Aree Ex Falck in Sesto San Giovanni, the small house module of Diogene, the expansion of the Aquarium in Genova, the blueprint Masterplan in Genova, the Masterplan for the Archeological Area of Ercolano, the Observation Tower of the Genova Harbour and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
While her involvement is important in the early, conceptual design phases, it ensures continuity and quality at every stage of a project, as well as encouraging the sharing of expertise across the project teams.
